C-Tech has in the past and continues to participate in a number of innovative projects as prime contractor or as part of a team. A list of some of the projects follow:

  • Developed and patented an electronic Scan Switch used by the US and allied Navies.
  • Revolutionized the commercial sonar market through the introduction of the first OMNI®-Directional Sonar.
  • Developed and introduced the first micro-processor controlled colour commercialized sonar.
  • Certified to design and manufacture Standard Electronic Modules (SEM) for USN Programs.; over 400 standards and special functions designed and built.
  • Designed and manufactured a variety of sonar transducers including the AN/SQS-505/510 Sonar Transducer used by the navies of Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, Greece and Portugal.
  • Evaluated the use of sonar for Arctic navigation.
  • Designed and manufactured a family of OMNI® sonar systems for naval ship coastal defence application.
  • Designed and manufactured three generations of OMNI® Underwater Surveillance Sonar systems for Harbour Security applications.
  • Designed, manufactured and qualified Combat System Equipment for the Canadian Patrol Frigate Project.
  • Designed and manufactured a High Resolution Multibeam Sonar subsystem for mine detection and mine hunting.
  • Designed and manufactured 38 types of simulators for the Operation Room Team Trainer (ORTT) used for land based Canadian Patrol Frigate team training.
  • Designed and manufactured a Hull Mounted Sonar (HMS) subsystem for the Swedish Navy's Visby Class Corvettes.
  • Designed and manufactured a Variable Depth Sonar (VDS) subsystem for the Swedish Navy's Visby Class Corvettes.
  • Under contract to L-3 Communications Ocean Systems, C-Tech manufactures and tests sub-assemblies of the L-3 HELRAS Sonar for the new Canadian Navy Maritime Helicopters.
